My attempt to reverse my drained brain

1st week

I landed in Addis on 1/13/17…10Pm a beautiful breathy 27 degrees. The trip was long and few checking issues... I was traveling with my mom. We had 5 bags and two of them where over 50Lb and that costed me extra $400.

Arrived in AA airport
My mom’s Ethiopian passport was about to expire in 3 weeks and the self-checking machine requested a passport that is at least 6 month before expiration…managed to pass that hurdle as she is traveling to Ethiopia and would be able to renew her passport after. Then my carry-on bag was confiscated and taken to a room for a check. I had too many cords and speakers. The TSA officer was checking  every single item in my carry-on bag and that took half an hour and off-course it took me 20 minutes to put everything in place and by then the plane has started boarding. We made it last minute! Flew to DC then to Frankfurt and finally Addis after a long 27-hour trip including layover.

Saturday and Sunday, I had a wonderful time with family. I was so excited to give my dad a hug and had a mixed  juice with him!

Working as a lab tech
On Monday went to hospital. introduced myself to the department. Started the day with morning report and round with interns. Afternoons are mostly slow. The medical college just started Internal medicine residency program. The curriculum is still on the drafting phase and I was asked if I could help.  I am now reading the curriculum and finding a way to engage residents more. I am a little scared and excited for this challenge. I am currently reading the draft curriculum

We to Gondar for timket on 1/19/one of the major Ethiopian holiday with huge tourist attraction.  Gondar is also where I went for medical school and the best place to celebrate epiphany/timket
